Forever21 Clothing Haul

1/28/2019

Hi friends! I have a small (like 4 items ha) haul for you today. I seriously have not purchased anything for myself in months (with the exception of necessities and a couple things for my apartment) due to finishing up my internship. It's definitely been tough only being able to buy things like gas and groceries, but it really shifted my mindset and made me appreciate every single dollar I have ever had/will have.

Anyway, I was lucky enough to take a Saturday shopping trip with my mom and sister and I found a few things I am super excited about :) It's probably because I literally haven't purchased anything in so long but I am OBSESSED with what I found.

*Disclaimer #2: I was unable to find the navy sweater  (you would probably just have to check your local Forever21)... I also looked for the pink sweater with no luck :( I did find a similar sweater in a mauve color here :)
Forever21 was having a massive sale where you could buy one clearance item and get another free (of equal or lesser value). Let me tell you... I was SO overwhelmed. Forever21 quite honestly overwhelms me most of the time, but I love their stuff so I usually just ignore it and try and find what I can LOL.

I tried to look through as much as I could and I noticed they had quite a few sweaters. Most of the sweaters were on sale for $19 which is a pretty decent price to begin with, but even better because I could get TWO sweaters for that price (I'm definitely frugal so this was a win-win). They also had a lot of outerwear for $19 so I tried on a super cute teddy coat that was a beautiful light purple color, but it just didn't fit right on me (I was pretty bummed).

I did find this super cute leopard print sweater, though! I love that it is grey and black - there's something about being able to wear black bottoms and black shoes and then something on top that isn't completely black but still perfectly matches the color scheme. I also love that this doesn't have any buttons and is just left to sit casually. It is super soft and cozy, too... perfect for those cold, winter days.

The other sweater I got in this buy one get one deal is this super cute navy, cream, and orange sweater. I was drawn to the color blocking and the softness of the sweater. Seriously, all of these sweaters feel so well-made! This one is also longer so I think there are more options for styling. You can dress it up for a workday or you can wear it casually with leggings. Another win in my book :)

Of course, I had to look off the clearance racks too (just couldn't help myself). I found two sweaters each under $25 and I just couldn't pass either one of them up. The first is this cream/white, button-down sweater. I call it cream/white because it isn't totally cream colored but it's also not totally white either. It's actually perfect for me personally, because I think full-on cream can sometimes look dated and I'm not a huge fan of full-on, bright white either. It's the best of both worlds!

Obviously a cream/white sweater can go with anything. On this particular day, I paired it with a black and white striped peplum top and green skinny "jeans." I felt like the contrast of the cream and white on top looked really nice with the green bottoms. I also wore these boots (which I wear ALL the time). I seriously can't get enough of this sweater :)

The last sweater I found is pink, soft, and everything dreams are made of. In case I haven't said it before, I am obsessed with the color pink. I would live in it and fill my apartment with it, but my husband respectfully asked me if we could tone down the pink a little bit hahaha... we have a few pink things here and there but I have found plenty of other decor to take the place of all the pink we had before. Someday, I'll have a closet/makeup room that I can fill with pink (a girl can dream, right?!)

Seriously, though, this sweater is SO soft and extremely flattering. I love sweaters, but let's be honest... sometimes they just aren't all that flattering for the figure. It's not that they look bad or anything, but I don't think I have a sweater that somehow clings to me in a way that actually looks good and not like I'm just full of static.

My only complaint about this sweater is that it seems like it would be easy to snag. It feels very well-made and is thick, cozy, and warm, but as you can tell from the picture, the knitting is quite large which leaves room for snagging. I'm typically pretty careful with my clothing so I'm not too worried about it for myself, but just wanted to give everyone the warning.

That's all for today... thank you so much for reading! Let me know which piece is your favorite; I love hearing from you!

XOXO,

Michaela
